Ward Information

The City of Marshfield is divided into two Wards, or voting districts.  The East Ward is defined by those properties that lie East of Marshall Street, and the West Ward is defined by those properties that lie West of Marshall Street.

On November 10, 2011 a Public Hearing will be held to propose a change in district lines.  A portion of the properties East of South Marshall Street beginning at Elizabeth Street and ending at the Southern city limits.  This proposal is based on 2010 Census population numbers in order to align the population more evenly.  Currently according to the Census numbers, there are 3,127 citizens in the West Ward and 3,507 citizens in the East Ward.  The proposed redistricting would result in 3,280 citizens in the West Ward and 3,354 citizens in the East Ward.

The Public Hearing will be November 10, 2011 at 6:00 p.m.

Please see the West Ward Map and the East Ward Map.   An enlarged Redistrict Map is also available to show the proposed change which would move a portion from the East Ward to the West Ward.

Please call Dan McMillan or Terri Taylor if you have any questions regarding this proposal.
